Day 20 - Favourite Kiss(es)

Well this post is going to be quite difficult. Why? Because I'd like to award it to these two:

Brittany & Santana: Glee Live in Dublin
However, I feel I can't because this happened in during the Glee Live tour and the nearest they got to kissing on Glee itself was a nuzzle.

I'm going to cheat here and name *three* favourite kisses.

Day 19 – Best TV show cast

Right, well I took a pause to make sure I did this post justice. However, I have since realised the longer I leave it the more amazing it'll need to be to justify not posting for so long and I've probably already left it too long to be able to write a good enough post so I might as well just post now...

A(nother) pause

Well, whoops, it looked like I forgot about this blog.

The next day due on 30 Days of TV is "Best Cast", and I want to try to do this justice, so I'm going to have to leave it for a while as I have a conference to go to from Saturday until next Wednesday...

Who am I kidding, no one's reading this :-p

A critique of the coverage following the lifting of the lifetime ban on blood donations from men who have had sex with men

For those of you who don't already know, last week it was announced there would no longer be a lifetime ban on men who have had oral or anal sex with men (MSM) giving blood. Men will now be able to give blood a year after they last had sex with another man.

Day 18 – Favourite opening credits

Mmm, this takes me back to a time when all shows had opening credits before the title card was made popular by Lost.

Anyway, to the question... Most opening credits become annoying after the second time of seeing them so become skippable.  This is mainly thanks to the music.  There are two honourable exceptions though:

Day 17 - Favourite mini series

Only one I can think of which I genuinely enjoyed was the Battlestar Galactica one before the series proper began. So, yeah, I'll go with that. I'm sure there are others because Lord knows the UK is swimming in 5 day "events" but none of them spring to mind (probably because they're mostly forgettable).

Day 14 & 15 – Favourite male & female characters

Favourite male character
Even after all these years the answer is and probably always will be Xander. I first noticed him during The Pack. In fact I can tell you the exact moment I noticed him:

Xander in The Pack

This is a guy who's normally all sweet and goofy and I love him for that but to get the teenager I was at the time to pay attention he had to get possessed by a hyena and act like a douchebag for a whole episode. Though I will have to say - eating a live pig ain't hot.

Favourite female character
Do I have to pick just one? Really? Can I not have three? No? OK then...

Santana does Valerie

Excuse me, my brain always stops functioning after looking at the hotness that is Ms Naya Rivera many times over. Santana is played by someone who could be genuinely called "a triple threat" unlike some other members of the cast I could think of. Naya can sing, she can dance and goddamn she can act. She makes Santana the best thing about Glee. Even back in the dark days when she got barely any scenes she brought out the amazing-ness in Santana with her partner in crime Brittany and boy, did it pay off. Bit part to recurring character through to regular all in one season. She should be the lead of this show but instead Ryan, Ian and Brad would rather make it the Rachel, Kurt and Finn show. .

(Oh btw, if I could have had three, the other two would have been Brittany and Willow, in case you needed it spelling out ;-))

Day 13 – Favourite childhood show

If I'd been posting this before yesterday, I would have totally said Count Duckula. However, my opinion has been rather adjusted by the news that CITV are bringing these lovely puppets back:

Day 11 – A show that disappointed me

OK, does this mean a show that disappointed me in its entirety or a show that was good and then didn't live up to its earlier promise?

If it's the first question I'd have to go with The Killing, for reasons I explained here.

Day 10 – A show I thought I wouldn't like but ended up loving

This is incredibly easy, why can't all questions be like this?

Day 09 – Best scene ever

How do I begin to answer this one?  There are many things that can make a scene good: the emotional depth, lighting, direction or humour.

Bah, no, I can't do this... NEXT!

A pause

I'm going to have to pause the 30 Days of TV meme because:

  1. I unexpectedly had to work on Thursday, so couldn't draft yesterday's and today's posts as I'd hoped, and
  2. I have a wedding to go to today, and I think my best friend would object to me missing it for a blog...
On the wedding theme, I've got "I'm getting married in the morning" going through my head, even though it's not my wedding I'm going to... What an odd head I have.

Day 08 – A show everyone should watch

Hm, this is a tough one because the world would be an incredibly boring place if we all had the same tastes, wouldn't it?

OK, rather than thinking deeply about shows I know of that would appeal to a wide range of people, I'm going to throw a bit of a curve ball:
